甲
Jiǎ
Yang Wood · The towering tree
Jia is the tall tree: upright, principled, growing in one direction and shading whoever stands nearby. Jia people carry quiet authority and lead from the front rather than negotiate from the side. The tree's weakness is its stiffness: slow to bend, slow to ask for help, more likely to snap under load than sway with it. At their best they are the load-bearing pillar of a family or team; overextended, rigid to the point of standing alone.
