Xīn

Yin Metal · The finished jewel

Xin is metal after the forge: polished, precise, and aware of its own worth. Xin people carry refined taste and an unforgiving eye for flaws, in the work and in themselves. They are elegant, meticulous, and hard to fool. The polish has a price: criticism lands deep, crudeness offends physically, and the same perfectionism that produces beautiful work can curdle into quiet judgment of everyone who settles for less.

The element

Metal (yin)

structure, edge, refinement

Its twin

Gēng

Same element, opposite polarity: the unforged blade.

How Xīn relates to the other elements

Fed by Earth

土 Earth is this day master's Resource 印: learning, backing, recovery.

Feeds Water

水 Water is its Output 食伤: expression, craft, and what it produces.

Directs Wood

木 Wood is its Wealth 财: opportunity and resources worked for.

Directed by Fire

火 Fire is its Officer 官杀: structure, duty, and pressure.

Whether each relation helps or drains depends on the whole chart: a strong Xīn benefits from being worked; a weak one from being fed. The calculator makes that call with the method disclosed.
